In the early days of November, I was one of the most insecure people one could know, unsure about my new huge plan to discover Southeast Asia, I actually doubted the whole idea at first. Once Ingrid reassured me that everything would turn out fine, I also convinced myself that I would come back with all the answers to my life. (Laughing at the naive me, at the moment.)
Travelling gave me a new way of looking at life, it even gave me some answers to life, not all of course and if the answers were the ones I was seeking is a different story. Nevertheless, during my search I also got (bitten by) the Travel Bug. For all the backpacking people out there, I'm pretty sure you know exactly what I mean; you decide to seek new adventures, thrills and experience, thinking that once you get back, you've got your dose of travelling and feel satisfied. However, what you really discover is how big the world is, how many new places there is to visit, all the people that gladly open their hearts, share their thoughts, experience and knowledge. And then bham! Reality hits you in the face, or at least that is what happened to me, slowly I realized that never, ever will I feel satisfied.
Bitten by the Travel Bug, all you want to do is explore more, new cultures, exotic food, new friends, learn to say hello and thank you in a different language, in other words, experience a new country. Chetan Bang once wrote in his book 2 states- The Story Of My Marriage;
Oh, the irony!

Sometimes in life you just meet someone or hear something that nudges you on the right path. And that becomes the best advice. It could just be a bit of common sense said in a way that resonates with something in you. It's nothing new, but because it connects with you it holds meaning to you.Well, that's exactly what happened to me. This is the beginning of my third week back home in Sweden, I appreciate it, the clean air, tap water, my bed, clean bathroom, yet I can't help myself from feeling some kind of jealousy towards all the others that are still on their adventures trips. I don't really miss the travelling in the travel, I just miss all the new experiences I had by the end of the day (the food, the sun, the ocean...) and all the openhearted people that got me.
Oh, the irony!
